Everyone wear hats!

The rule for today is to mix and match what you’re going to wear but the fun starts when you mix and match apparels that clashes. Something like wearing a suit and blazer with surf shorts.

Today would be a more significant day for women than men. For all the women out there, the rule for today is to not wear any cosmetics on your face. It doesn’t matter if you’re going to work or your own birthday party. Your face needs some rest.

Apparently from 2010-2012 is Visit Korea Year. It’s only June and I’m aware students are either on summer break or graduating. It’s a perfect time to travel abroad and I think my country is a fun and interesting place to visit so that’s why I’ve decided to add Visit Korea Day to my list.

Earlier today I came across a really strange clip on youtube. A man is claiming that mermaids exist and the government is hiding this fact from the public. Now, I know that I named the day mermaid day, but it’s not about mermaids. Can you think of some topics of discussions that might be weird or awkward to bring up when you’re with your parents or colleagues. UFO, aliens, bigfoot, the lochness monster??? Initiate a conversation with these subjects in mind and see how the other person reacts.

“Julia Leach may have branched out from Kate Spade (she used to serve as creative director for the brand), but she took what would appear to be thick strands of DNA from the aesthetic for her solo excursion. Her own line, Chance, is a similarly whimsical, smart line of sportswear. It looks effortlessly chic on models lounging in refreshing environments, where the only cares in the world involve penciling in appointments while lying on beach blankets. The launch lookbook features (appropriately) beachside nautical stripes, bright pop-color scarves, and plenty of vacation ideas.”

Ever since I got admitted to the masters in branding program I’ve been out of shape. Long hours in front of the computer researching and eating junk food. These days, for me, it takes a effort to run 3 miles everyday, but it’s not strenuous and it takes about 30 minutes. In the condition that I’m in, if I can do it then most people can. Dedicate about 30 minutes to an hour (or however long it takes you to run 3 miles) today and enjoy the exercise. It feels good afterwards.

Do you really need everything that you possess? My friend Lynn from SVA’s branding program lead me think about this question. Her project titled “Good of the Day” inspired me to create a day dedicated to re-assess everything we own and “minimalize” our life. Give one good thing away to someone (anyone and anywhere), but make sure it’s something you don’t need to replace in the future. Otherwise, it would be pointless.

Pick your favorite person among the people that you know well because today you’ll have to sing a song for that person. It could be anyone- mom, uncle, teacher, your boss, neighbor, etc. However, the rule is that you must sing for them in the usual environment where you would most likely see them. It will be against the rule to take them to a karaoke bar. Have fun!
